MY DAILY BUZZ

MY DAILY BUZZ is a collection of residue from participation in a state-sanctioned addiction, measured in time and material. We humans have a need to obsessively seek meaning and value amid our seemingly chaotic randomness on this spinning sphere circling in darkness around the a beautiful warm glowing center.

 

Art is a courageous pointless act, using materials, thoughts, time and  resources that could probably be used in a better way to serve the economic system we are stuck in. But screw that! Over time, the daily trivia becomes the essence of your life, then comes the meaning, and aesthetic of the actions.

 

Everyday, at Rex coffee shop in NYC, I purchased a caffeinated latte. Drank down that bitter body lighting liquid and felt more than a few nerve receptors in my brain come on line quickly, giving me the chutzpah determination to say: “Let’s go!” to whatever pleasurable, painful, or numskulled day lay ahead of me. These simple, cheap, and destined for landfill cardboard containers became a flawed marker of respect. Not only for the magic roasted beans that gave me the boost, but for the day I was now facing. I inattentively let my pen in hand move and mark it, and there it was! 

 

My day recognized and honored in my cheap cardboard chalice!
